Mr. Joseph Robertson Afful
Mr. Afful holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree and Master of Arts Degree (Industrial Management). In his 33 years of experience working in the Banking Industry, he worked with reputable institutions including Social Security Bank (now Societe Generale), Cal Bank, HFC Bank (now Republic Bank) and Intercontinental/Access Bank, and was the Regional Director for Ashanti and Western Region for United Bank for Africa(UBA), Zonal Head for the Northern Sector of Ghana for Intercontinental / Access Bank. In both Banks, he was responsible for all Branches in Ashanti, Bono, Northern and Upper West Regions where he supervised all the Corporate, Small and Medium Enterprises(SME) as well as High net worth customers and Individuals within his territory, and the staff and assets of the Banks. He was also a part-time Lecturer at University of Education, Kumasi Campus (now AAMUSTED) for 6 years.
During his time at UBA, Mr. Afful through his resourcefulness, acquired plots of land to build UBA branches at KNUST and UEW, Kumasi Campus(now AAMUSTED). As a Zonal Head, he trained his staff in diverse banking fields, some of whom are now Zonal Heads and Heads of Departments in UBA, Access Bank, Stanchart and Zenith Bank, and others who are Branch Managers in the Banking Industry.
